Instructors
McGroarty Arts Center seeks to hire teaching-artists who are experts in their field, passionate about art education and believe in our teaching philosophy. Applications for employment are accepted throughout the year. Due to the nature of scheduling and promoting classes, new teachers are typically hired 3 months prior to the start of their first class. Please keep this in mind when applying.
Minimum Requirements for Employment:
- BA or BFA - 2 years previous teaching experience - A passion for teaching and the arts

Teaching Aide Interns
McGroarty Arts Center aims to foster growth and experience for high school students be introduced to the large variety of scholastic paths in higher education and creative employment opportunities in the arts.
All interns will receive college/job coaching from Arts Center staff as part of the internship program. Interns will become involved in their community and build leadership, critical thinking, decision-making and professional skills.
Interns must be responsible, enthusiastic,patient and good communicators. No previous experience in the arts necessary, although the intern should have an interest in visual or performing arts, arts education, arts administration, history, public art, museum studies, and/or education.
The intern will assist visual and performing arts instructors with the organization of arts classes, providing guidance and personal attention to elementary school children ages 5-12 as they explore painting, drawing, ceramics, theatre, dance, poetry, and music. The intern will also participate in the class’ culminating project, either an art gallery exhibition or public performance.
Preference is given to high school students eligible for Title One or Free/Reduced Lunch status.
