CLASSESMay I watch my child attend class? Parents are welcome to observe the first day of class. After the first day, we ask that parents wait outside the class room unless further observation is approved by the instructor.
My child has special cognitive or behavioral needs. How can I best prepare for her experience at McGroarty Arts Center? Children of all talents and abilities are welcome in our classes. Children with special needs often take our classes with a shadow or with the help of a parent. For help with choosing a class for your child, please call (818)352-5285.
When can I register? View our enrollment and policies or registration calendar for specific registration dates. You may enroll up until the first week of class. Select classes will accept late registration. We recommend signing up as early as possible because our classes fill quickly.
What is Priority Registration? Priority Registration is offered to families who have donated $50 or more to McGroarty Arts Center within the last twelve months. Priority Registration opens one week before General Registration. It's our way of saying “Thank You” for supporting the Center. Become a donor today and jump to the front of the line for one whole year! You may register in-person or over the phone. Remember that payment is due at the time of enrollment.
Do you have financial aid? Yes, we offer Financial Aid to help children, families, adults and seniors participate in the arts. Scholarships are awarded based on household income and other circumstances that would normally make art classes unaffordable. Flexible payment plans are available to every student.
How do I pay for my classes? We accept cash, check and VISA/Mastercard. You are welcome to make payment in person, over the phone or through the mail. You can also pay in installments by making arrangements with the office (818) 352-5285.
Why did you cancel my class? Running classes with too few students compromises both the learning experience of the students and the financial viability of the Center. We require that a minimum number of students (4-6 depending on the subject) enroll to run a class. Classes that do not reach the minimum enrollment 3 business days prior to the start of class are subject to cancelation. If your class is canceled, you will be contacted and offered a full refund, the opportunity to join a different class, or a credit to use for future classes at the Center. You can help us avoid canceling classes by encouraging friends and neighbors to enroll before the cut-off date. Can I make up a class that I missed on a different day or time, in the current or upcoming sessions? No. Unfortunately we are unable to offer make up classes. If you have questions, call us in the office (818) 352-5285.
