A Portion of Sales to Benefit the Firefighter’s Memorial Fund
Dates: September 11-19, 2009 Artists’ Reception: September 11 from 5 pm-9 pm Gallery Hours: Monday-Saturday 10 am-6 pm Admission is free.
The McGroarty Arts Center in Tujunga is pleased to host the Angeles Crest Art Guild’s second annual show. The Angeles Crest Art Guild (ACAG) is comprised of talented female visual artists, from diverse disciplines, who live and work in the Angeles Crest area (La Crescenta, La Canada, Glendale) of the San Gabriel Valley. ACAG actively creates, promotes, and supports art in the local community.
This particular exhibit includes an intriguing mix of sculpture, print works, ceramics, and paintings. The public is warmly invited to meet the artists at an opening reception on Friday, September 11 from 5:00-9:00 pm. Artists include Alisa Barsegyan, Gloria Beyer, Jill Blaisdell, Robin Cohen, Suzanne Edmonson, Libby Ellis, Mims Ellis, Babs Fine, Trish Kertes, Eugenia Maymontt, Linda Queally, Leona Sanderson, Julie Snyder, Elizabeth B. Tucker, and Karen Winters.
Many of the ACAG artists draw inspiration for their work from the natural beauty of the Angeles Crest and are deeply grateful to the firefighters tirelessly working to keep us safe. In this spirit, ACAG welcomes the opportunity to donate a percentage of sales to benefit both the McGroarty Arts Center and the Memorial Fund, created in memory of the two firefighters lost in the recent fire.
The show runs for one week only from Saturday, September 12 through Saturday, September 19. McGroarty Center and Gallery hours are 10 am-6 pm, Monday through Saturday (closed on Sundays). Admission is free.
McGroarty Arts Center is committed to providing affordable arts education in our community. Multidisciplinary arts instruction is offered to at-risk youth, children, adults, and families, as are performances, exhibitions, and events that engage the greater public. The Center is a venue for artists to present their work, while preserving the legacy of John Steven McGroarty and his historic home. Programs at McGroarty Arts Center are funded in part by the James Irvine Foundation, City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, the Annenberg Foundation, California Community Foundation and the Los Angeles County Arts Commission.
