INSTRUCTORS:
McGroarty Arts Center is always looking to bring in new teachers: experts in their field who are passionate about art and art education. Applications for employment are accepted throughout the year. Due to the nature of scheduling and promoting classes, new teachers are typically hired 3 months prior to the start of their first class. Please keep this in mind when applying.

Minimum Requirements for Employment:
· BA or BFA
· 2 years previous teaching experience
· A passion for teaching and the arts

To apply for a teaching position with McGroarty Arts Center, please submit a complete resume, cover letter and one or two letters of recommendation or a list of references.

TEACHER'S AIDE:
Some of our children’s classes require a teacher’s aide. Teachers’ aides help set up and clean up the classroom space, interact with students to make sure each is getting personal attention, and assist with other tasks the teacher may assign. Teachers’ aides are a valuable part of McGroarty’s staff and act as roll models to our younger students. Teacher’s aide positions can be applied for as a paid position or a volunteer position. Those interested in becoming a teacher’s aide should apply 1 month before the class session begins.

Minimum Requirements for Employment:
· At least 15 years of age
· Experience working with children (such as babysitting, helping in a preschool, etc.)
· Must have an interest in art, a positive attitude, patience, good listening skills and the ability to follow directions.

To apply for a teacher’s aide position, please submit a 2-3 paragraph letter introducing yourself. The letter should describe your experience working with children and your experience with art. You may also want to write about your skills, successes you have had in school, awards you have won and other activities in which you are involved.

INTERNSHIPS:
Unpaid internships are available to undergraduate students. McGroarty Arts Center offers students a unique opportunity to participate in running a non-profit arts organization. Interns will have full access to top management, Board Members and data. Internships are most appropriate for arts management, business, marketing, economics and communications majors, but all students with an interest in non-profits or the arts are invited to apply.

In addition to learning the existing procedures of the organization, the intern will work with the Executive Director to determine projects appropriate to both the intern and the organization. Because projects will vary greatly from intern to intern, the length and schedule of the internship is flexible.

Students should submit a resume, cover letter, one or two letters of recommendation and a copy of your most recent transcript.

All submissions should be sent to:
