Combine the colors of painting and the dimensionality of sculpting. Create several pieces of beautiful, wearable art, while you learn the basics of cutting glass, glass compatibility, using dichroic glass, glass patterns, stringers, frit, and casting techniques, as well as hanging your finished pieces.

If you have them, bring your cutting, breaking, and stained glass tools. Tools will also be available for use/purchase during class. All levels are welcome!

Art Fair & Gallery 2012 Applications Print

The Art Fair and Gallery is an opportunity for visual artists from the local community to exhibit and sell their work in two curated gallery spaces and outdoor booths. This split presentation format allows artists to present their work, even if it they prefer not to display it in the curated gallery. Visual artists working in all mediums are encouraged to enter the event, though the gallery portion will favor two dimensional works such as paintings, photographs and fiber art.

View the Art Fair & Gallery Prospectus.

2012 Theme: "Just California." John Steven McGroarty wrote his iconic poem "Just California" in 1933, describing the idyllic and natural beauty of the state of California. We know California is more than the "...light of leaping rivers, and the flash of popped plains." California has long thrived on its continual reinvention. We asked artists to investigate topics relevant to California: immigration, the impact of information technology on business and communication, California's tumultuous infrastructure, disastrous earthquakes and fires, racial panic, and unemployment. Explore their findings in the first ever Art Fair & Gallery at McGroarty Arts Center!
