Art & Design

April Cole is an experienced artist and has been a professional art instructor for over 15 years. She has taught art from preschool through graduate level in neighboring private and charter schools, local community art centers, and throughout the Los Angeles area. April was exposed to visual arts at a very early age. Eager to enhance her skills and talent through education, April graduated from Otis Parson Art Institute in fine art and art history, and earned her degree from Platt College in graphic design and advertisement. She also holds a PhD in Biblical Studies.

April considers herself to be a mixed media artist, working with a varity of mediums and styles. Her goal is to capture a thought, a mood, desire, or a inspiring moment, and transform these into artwork. April’s artwork holds the moment and, upon completion, is given a title. As an instructor her philosophy is that every visual artist uses one if not all basic components that make up the elements of art. With a passion to teach others these same concepts, April has developed a comprehensive art curriculum called “7 elements of art” and “7 principles of design”.
