Covid FAQ:

The City of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, and McGroarty Arts Center want to keep you, our instructors, and staff safe from COVID-19. McGroarty Arts Center will be enforcing the COVID guidelines put in place by the City of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. We wish for you to follow these guidelines to enjoy all the classes and events we will be offering. Thank you.

1.      Do we have to wear masks?

Wearing a mask is high recommended but is optional.

2.      Will McGroarty check vaccinations?

The City of Los Angeles no longer requires McGroarty to check for vaccinations.

3.      How many vaccinations do I need?

The City of Los Angeles no longer requires McGroarty to check for vaccinations.

4.      What if I’m unvaccinated and want to sign up for class?     

You can still sign up for classes. We are no longer required to check for vaccinations.

5.      Are that any distancing restrictions?

We ask that you try your best to stay 6 feet apart as much as possible. The 6 feet social distancing is highly recommended, but not required.

6.      When will these guidelines be lifted?

The City of Los Angeles and the Department of Cultural Affairs have informed us that all COVID guidelines have been lifted since February 1, 2023.

7.      Can I still come to class if I’m showing COVID-19 symptoms?

We ask that you quarantine for at least 5-10 days or until you are no longer showing any symptoms without taking any symptom-reducing medication.

We may also ask to see a negative PCR test upon your return to MAC.

Please also inform the McGroarty staff that you are experiencing symptoms and have tested positive.

8.      Can I still come to class if I tested positive but not showing symptoms?

No. Please quarantine for at least 5-10 days or until you receive a negative PCR or at-home test to return to class or until you are no longer showing any symptoms without any medications. Please refer to CDC website for the most up-to-date recommendations in order to keep your class members, teacher, and our community safe.

9.      Can I get a partial refund or prorate if I miss class due to COVID?

We will not be giving out partial refunds or prorating your tuition if you miss a class or two due to COVID.

2. If I had a membership during the closure, is it still active?

A pause was placed on all memberships during the COVID closure and then reinstated when we opened. All of those memberships have now run their full year course, so if you want to be a member again, you would need to rejoin as a member.
