Pay Range: $20 - $23 an hour

McGroarty Art Center (MAC) seeks a part-time Kiln Technician to support multiple weekly firings at MAC’s Ceramics Studio, a major part of MAC’s arts education mission. Major areas of responsibilities include coordinating studio firing, mixing and maintaining glazes, firing, loading/unloading, and inventory. They will coordinate with Ceramics instructors to ensure materials are available to support the lesson plan for each class. Technician must have expertise and technical knowledge of ceramics and be able to fulfill duties with a high degree of responsibility, and can maintain good communication in a team of kiln technicians.

This position plays a role in our key ceramics studio, and must demonstrate a commitment to the organization’s key values of affordable arts instruction, creative space for all, and an inclusive environment.

This role may require weekend or evening work on an as-needed basis.
